What Clients Say
“I've built consistent habits with meals and movement, and I feel happier, more energized, and in control of my health.”
Most People Already Know Enough to Lose Weight
Keto. Calorie counting. The Peloton. You've done the hard part before and watched the weight come off. Then a new job, a move or a busy season hit, the routine slipped, and it came back. Every restart feels a little harder than the last.
The information is not the problem. What is missing is a structure that makes the right choice easier than the wrong one, repeated long enough to become automatic. That is what health coaching for weight loss at PWP helps you build.
There are no fad diets here, no punishing workouts and no promise of a number by a date. The aim is slow, steady change built on habits you can keep long after the program ends.
What Weight Loss Coaching Includes
Think of it as a 16-week weight loss coaching program inside Personalized Health Coaching: one program, personalized around the goal you care about. Based in Boston, we coach men online across the US.
- A look at your eating, movement, sleep and stress patterns
- Personal weight loss coaching built around your schedule, not a template
- Regular exercise, planned by a Doctor of Physical Therapy
- Simple eating habits and a food journal in Everfit
- Sleep and stress habits that make hunger and cravings easier
- Someone to message when the weekend gets away from you, plus a weekly check-in and a 1-on-1 every month
If You Are Using a GLP-1 Medication
Medications like Ozempic can help, and that decision belongs to you and your doctor. PWP does not give medication advice. What coaching can do is build the eating, strength and activity habits that support your health while you use one, and after.
Nutrition Coaching for Weight Loss, and the Habits Around It
Weight is rarely just about food. Short sleep makes you hungrier. Stress pushes you toward quick comfort. A sedentary day lowers energy and makes the gym feel impossible. The program works on all of these together, so changes to eating have support around them.
Here that means habits, not meal plans: regular meals, a plan for work dinners and late nights, and portions you can live with. If stress or long days push you toward late-night snacking, emotional eating gets a plan too: we look at what sets it off and build an easier default, alongside any care from your doctor or therapist. Our personal nutrition coaching page goes deeper.
Strength training gets special attention, because keeping and building muscle matters while you lose fat. That is why our fat loss coaching starts with strength, and it's where PWP's background in physical therapy helps most. You follow a structured strength program, the same approach behind our online strength coaching, and add weight block over block, so the progress you see isn't only on the scale.
Signs This Approach Fits You
Behavior-first coaching suits guys who have tried quick fixes and want something they can keep. It tends to fit if several of these sound familiar:
- You have lost weight before and regained it
- You know what to eat but struggle to do it on busy weeks
- Evenings are where plans fall apart
- You want to get stronger, not just smaller
- You would rather build habits than follow rules
- You used to play sports and want that feeling back
- You want real accountability from a coach who checks in, not just an app
How Progress Is Measured
The scale is one number among several. We also look at the habits that drive it: how many days you moved, how consistent your meals were, how you slept, and whether the plan survived a stressful week.
For many men it turns into a body transformation as much as a weight change: losing fat while building muscle, also called body recomposition. How your clothes fit and what you see in the mirror count alongside the scale.
Those behavior numbers change first, and they are the ones you can control. Watching them keeps you going during the weeks when the scale does not move, which is where most weight loss attempts usually stop.
What to Expect
Expect progress that looks small week to week and adds up over months. This is long-term weight management, not a sprint. Coaching cannot promise a specific result. It can give you a plan that survives real life and someone who notices when things slip. If you have a medical condition that affects your weight, talk to your doctor before you start.
Kept training through an MBA, family care and weeks of travel
“Before, I'd go months without working out. Now if I miss two weeks, I feel it, and I want to get back. That's something new.”
Brandon G.Brandon joined while leaving a corporate job for an MBA, living at home and helping care for his dad, with a lingering shoulder injury. He built a strength routine around his shoulder, went from about 260 lbs toward the low 230s, built from 10-minute runs to 30, and learned to get back on track quickly while traveling for weeks.
How PWP Compares to Other Kinds of Help
Weight loss apps and programs usually focus on the number. PWP focuses on the behaviors behind it, with certified Doctors of Physical Therapy planning your training and a board-certified health coach.

Common Questions
Something else on your mind? Email us.
How much weight will I lose?
No coach can honestly promise a number. The program builds habits that support steady change; results depend on many factors, including your health and starting point.
Do I have to follow a diet?
No. Coaching works on eating habits, like regular meals, planning and portions, rather than a specific diet.
Can I do this while taking Ozempic or another GLP-1?
Yes, alongside your doctor's care. PWP does not advise on medication; coaching supports the habits around it.
Will I have to do intense workouts?
No. Exercise starts at the level you can keep, often walks and short strength sessions, and builds from there.
What does a weight loss coach do?
Helps you build and keep the habits behind weight loss: eating patterns, strength training, sleep and stress. Here that means a personalized plan, accountability between sessions, and changes every week when life gets busy.
Personal trainer or weight loss coach: which do I need?
A personal trainer runs your workouts. As your weight loss coach, PWP plans your training too, then works on eating, sleep and stress between sessions, online, with two Doctors of Physical Therapy. If you love training in person, keep your trainer and add coaching for the habits around it.
Does weight loss coaching work for men over 40?
Yes. After 40, keeping muscle and recovering well matter more, so the plan leans on strength training, sleep and steady habits rather than crash diets. The same coaching works for men in their 20s and 30s. We coach men of every age.
